Joey de Leeuw

Joey is graduated as a fashion student where he followed a minor in visual culture. Funny enough this was where his passion for filmcraft was founded. After his study he picked up a camera and start filming himself. From documentary work in Cameron and ivory coast for different NGO’s like SOS child villages, to fashion brands like Scotch & Soda and start working for other commercial brands. Eventually he stopped doing everything himself because he learned film making is a team effort. Now he’s been working for 8 years on commercial projects like SIRE, Nationale Nederlanden, Phillips, Nierstichting, KLM and Zonnebloem. With a passion for real and authentic moments but never sacrifices an aesthetic filmic approach. Always searching for genuine and vulnerable moments, where he is very aware of finding a human approach within what is needed and what is wanted. Which results in honest and emotional films with an universal theme.
