Valentijn is a young, multi-talented creator who prefers to visualize his ideas through film, particularly in the areas of directing, camera work, and editing. As a true Gen Z filmmaker, he grew up in the online world with social media, smartphones, and a constant information overload. This inspired him to experiment with video and photography, but also confronted him with the negative consequences of this era. Consequently, he offers a platform to underrepresented themes through his work, aiming to initiate conversation. He created a portrait series about young people struggling with loneliness, directed a protest film about the issues of student loan systems, and produced a mini-documentary on online shaming. Valentijn is most passionate about projects related to societal issues and enjoys collaborating with organizations that share this focus. His genuine interest and personal approach result in films with intimate frames that feel authentic and documentary-like. Valentijn is practical and hands-on, which fosters smooth creative collaboration.
